Niefnecker Family

    Papers, 1808-1871.  1 in.  The Niefnecker family immigrated to New York from Alsace in 1866.  The collection includes a bill for steamship passage, a passport, a paper issued by the French Consulate in New York in 1871 opting for French rather than German nationality, booklets relating to apprenticeship in Alsace, and family documents relating to wills and inheritances.  In French, Alsatian and English.  Inventory available.  Gift of the Alliance Francaise/French Institute.
